Summary
VetGuide is an independent informational guide. The app’s research content is bundled with the app and links to official government sources for verification and next steps.
Information stored by the iPhone app
If you use the case organizer, VetGuide stores the information you enter locally in the app’s sandbox on your device. This may include:
- Your case title, case type, current stage, and the date you last checked an official status.
- Timeline-event titles, dates, categories, status, notes, and reminders you choose to enter.
- Evidence-inventory metadata such as an item label, type, date, and notes. VetGuide does not store the underlying document, photograph, or medical file.
- Your appearance preference and whether app protection is enabled.
VetGuide does not require a VetGuide account and does not include organizer cloud sync. The app does not ask you to enter a Social Security number, VA claim number, VA username or password, or full medical record. Please do not place those items in free-text notes.
Research and calculator inputs
Search text, selected disability percentages, dependent-estimate choices, and state-rating filters are used on the device to show results. VetGuide does not send those inputs to a VetGuide server.
Face ID, passcode, and app-switcher privacy
If you enable “Require Face ID or passcode,” VetGuide asks iOS to authenticate you. Apple’s system interface performs the biometric or passcode check. VetGuide receives the success or failure result, not your facial data, fingerprint data, or device passcode.
VetGuide covers its app-switcher preview to reduce casual exposure. Device protections cannot prevent every risk—for example, someone with access to an unlocked device, a device backup, or an exported copy may be able to access information.
App Store purchases
Case Binder Plus is an optional auto-renewing annual subscription. Apple processes the purchase and payment information. VetGuide uses StoreKit to receive product information, purchase status, and the entitlement needed to unlock Plus. VetGuide does not receive your full payment-card number.
Apple’s privacy policy and App Store terms govern Apple’s processing. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account’s App Store subscription settings.
Correction, bug, and support reports
The app can prepare a report containing the report type, severity, description, page context, source URL, source verification date, app version/build, and iOS version. A reply email address is optional.
You review the draft before anything is sent. VetGuide first offers Apple’s mail composer and also provides share or copy fallbacks. Opening a composer does not send or save the report. If you press Send to support@jimdoes.it, the report and any reply address you included are delivered by email and can be used to investigate, respond, and update the app.
Do not include passwords, Social Security numbers, VA claim numbers, medical records, or other information that is not necessary to explain the issue.
Website analytics
The public VetGuide website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visits, page views, referral sources, and general device/browser characteristics. Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies or use similar browser storage. The site does not use advertising features, and website analytics is not connected to the app’s local organizer data.
You can limit this collection with browser privacy controls, content blockers, or Google’s available analytics opt-out tools. The site’s core information and legal pages remain available when analytics is blocked.
Official links and external services
VetGuide links to VA.gov, eCFR.gov, state-government sites, the Veterans Crisis Line, Apple subscription settings, JimDoes.it, and other official or clearly labeled resources. When you open a link, your browser or iOS sends a normal network request to that service. Its privacy policy and security practices apply.
VetGuide does not sign in to VA.gov for you, scrape an authenticated VA page, or receive your VA sign-in credentials. The signed-in VA tool remains the authoritative place to view claim, appeal, and payment status.
Your controls
- Export: Settings offers a raw organizer-data export. Shared copies leave VetGuide’s app lock, so review the destination first.
- Delete: Settings can delete the local case title, type, stage, timeline, evidence index, and last-checked date.
- Protection: You can enable or disable Face ID/device-passcode protection in Settings.
- Email: You can cancel a report draft before sending and omit a reply email address.
- Subscription: You can manage or cancel Case Binder Plus through Apple.
Deleting the app normally removes its local app container from the device, subject to Apple’s device and backup behavior. Copies you exported or emailed must be managed at their destination.
Changes and contact
This policy may change when VetGuide’s behavior changes or legal requirements are updated. The effective date at the top will be revised, and material app changes will be reflected in the app or release notes as appropriate.
